Wow thank you Marc for the mention in this great post.

I think for us to make performance breakthrough as you say we need to focus on a specific area and work on it rather than simply trying to work on the whole of our game.

@Phil - I appreciate the kind words Phil. I am actually not a personal trainer or coach (in the current PD sense), I only train in karate as a lifestyle interest. But, all the things we do inside a karate dojo apply to any kind of personal development. I am really glad you are able to find value in what I am talking about for your clients. Thanks for sharing my thinking with your readers, I really do appreciate that.

Hi Marc -

Excellent post. I always work with my clients to go to the edge of a comfort zone and focus on making one change. Intensive work for a period of time embeds the learning, and allows rapid advancement and skill development. I can tell you are a powerful trainer and get results for your clients by stretching them to the edge. I enjoyed this series, so shared it with my readers in my latest post. Great work and thanks!

Phil

@Christine - It's interesting you say that Christine. Black Belt Guide is all about apply martial arts principles to solve problems in every day life. I am used to all this so the process I am describing work for me. I'd love to hear how the the writing exercise works out for you should you try it. Thanks for you comment and coming by.

Hi Marc

You outline a fascinating process here. The bit that talks to me most is about writing. I had never even considered writing in "performance" terms before, but given that I am currently upping the ante on my own writing (doing more guest posts, etc, etc) I do need to be able to produce good content in less time. I think your suggestion of writing three short posts a day under a time pressure may be worth trying. I'm going to think about this one... :)

Thanks and take care.
